About Me:
I'm interested in all sports, finance, economics, politics, and education issues. I'm also a law school graduate.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I teach for Revoultion Prep because I'm excited about helping kids improve their Sat scores and get into the college of their dreams. From my own experience working with a tutor I was able to go up 200 points - an improvement that made all the difference during my college application process.
Nasheed A.
Hometown: Bloomsburg, PA
College: Cornell University, Georgetown University, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
Resides in: Washington, DC
About Me:
I am a recent graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylania (state school in the boonies of PA, where I grew up...). I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do upon graduating high school (cure cancer, save the world, etc). But as you will see, I took a roundabout way of getting there, as I went from majoring in Biomedical Engineering/Pre-Medicine to graduating with Political Science and Mathematics degrees (haha yeah, figure THAT one out...). When, what I affectionately like to call, "My Undergraduate Tour," was winding down, and I still did not know what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told everyone that I was joining the circus. Cmon, don't hate... the circus can totally be cool...
My friends' little siblings frequently utilize my above average pool of knowledge regarding colleges and my myriad of experiences to help guide the difficult college application process. I hope you feel free to use me as a resource as well - I've attended a small private, a large private, and a medium sized public school in 2 states and a District- and honestly, what DIDN'T I major in?
I currently work at the NIH in their intellectual property office -like, I help scientists get credit for their discoveries with patents so pharmaceutical companies can license their technology and develop/distribute vaccines/drugs... for example, have you heard of Gardasil? Yeah, that was ALL me. What can I say, I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. Just kidding.
Anywho, I look forward to attending some kind of grad school in the future - maybe public health, maybe law... not gonna lie, the circus still looks appealing. :P
Until then, in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, arbitrarily changing my life plans regularly, traveling, cooking, movies, reading books that weren't assigned for homework(!) and watching sports. (I'm gonna have to warn you... I'm a die-hard Philly fan...)
But for now, I look forward to meeting all of you and hopefully, I will get to make this stressful period of your lives just a little bit easier. :-)
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Because the SATs are like SO hot right now... everyone is doing it. I want to be BFFs with everyone who takes the SATs, because I am just too cool for school.
Ok, maybe not. Sorry if that creeped you out. In all honesty, I've been tutoring since I was I was a freshman in high school and I love helping kids grasp tough, dry concepts through innovative, logical ways. SATs aren't fun. But, I genuinely feel that Revolution Prep prepares students in the most bearable, cost-effective way.

Lauren A.
Hometown: Bethesda, Maryland
College: University of Maryland- College Park
Resides in: Bethesda, MD
About Me:
I'm a fifth-year Psychology and French student at University of Maryland (meaning I'm an overachiever who loves college- college rules!). One day after I actually graduate, I plan to be either a psychologist or a teacher. In the meantime, I study, teach for Rev Prep, play tennis, sing in the choir, and speak French. My picture was taken during my semester abroad in the south of France: )
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Because I love teaching and I get to do it for a company that delivers results but has a conscience- they offer affordable services to EVERYONE, even those who can't afford a yacht.
Michelle B.
Hometown: Fremont, CA
College: Lewis & Clark College
Resides in: Annapolis, MD
About Me:
I am a fifth generation California girl, born and raised in the Bay Area. I have wandered around a bit since I left the Golden State, and I have lived in such exotic climes as Oregon, Minnesota, and France. What I have learned is that Oregon is quite green and rainy, Minnesota is quite cold and has many lakes, and France is profoundly and deeply French. I have taught students of all types: from Japanese chefs to Brazilian nanotechnologists, from kindergartners to retirees. I love teaching and I love learning. I am currently taking classes in French and Psychology at MPC, just for the pleasure of expanding my knowledge base. I only wish I had time for more! My hobbies include cooking, sewing, hiking, and watching bad TV. I must admit that I was addicted to the OC for an entire season, although now I have broken free of its spell, largely due to the fact that my TV only gets one channel.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Believe it or not, I really like taking tests! I also enjoy cracking tests, almost as much as squirrels like cracking nuts, or sea otters enjoy cracking abalone shells. I will show you how to crack nuts too! (Disclaimer: there are no juicy food tidbits in the middle of the SAT)
On a more serious note, a good score on the SAT is a powerful tool. It can help you to get into a great school and put you on the path to a fantastic college experience and a career you love. This is a crucial period of time in a student's life, and I want to help ensure that it is succesful for each and every one of my students.
Charles B.
Hometown: Louisville, KY
College: Case Western Reserve University
Resides in: Washington, DC
About Me:
I've recently graduated with a Master's of Engineering and Management and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering. I'm a huge nerd, but I like having fun as well (see picture). Not only do I enjoy biology and physics, but also the soft sciences, which are mathematical systems applied to society and people. I also enjoy swimming, running, video games, and hanging out with friends. I'm also a huge fan of terrible movies and TV shows and documentaries--if others are dying to turn something off, it's likely I plan to power through and watch them again.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
If test-taking is a skill, and all skills are teachable, then it's possible to teach people how to be good test-takers. I figured out how to do that myself in high school, and I want to be able to help others do well and succeed. The "cognitive ability tests" are not about the "innate ability of a person to think;" they're about test-taking. When I went through HS, I wasn't the top mind in my class; it was only through practice, studying and hard-work that I was named one of the top students at home. Any student with the same motivation (external or preferably, personal) could achieve the same.

About Me:
Ithaca College, B.S., 2006
Miami University, M.S., 2009
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Quite simply, I love to teach. Evolving over many years, I began by coaching youth baseball and soccer during high school. Once in college, I found that my love of sports had developed into a love of learning. As a graduate student, I found that my interests began to converge as I began teaching. Currently I live in College Park and am working on my PhD. I teach for Rev Prep because I enjoy making learning enjoyable and think this is a wonderful opportunity.

About Me:
Graduated from University of Washington (home to the winless, 0-12, Husky powerhouse football team!!) in 2003 and worked double shifts in two Seattle restaurants to save money for a year of travels. Spent 2004 backpacking through South America and living in Spain before entering the Peace Corps in 2005. Just got back to the states in late 2008, and wondering, why exactly I left the warm weather and nice beaches of Cape Verde where I served in the Peace Corps.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
To help students get into the college of their choice--and have the best time of their lives....

Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
love to teach! Revolution Prep's comprehensive approach to the SAT allows me to effectively teach students how to prepare for, and succeed at the SAT. Its always a great experience seeing students eyes light up as the realise.. 'this wasn't as hard as I thought!'

Caitlin D.
Hometown: Princeton, New Jersey
College: The College of William and Mary
Resides in: Washington, DC
About Me:
I graduated in 2008 from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA (colonial capital of the United States!!)with a major in Economics. In college, I was involved in Greek life and as a member of my campus planning board, which organized amazing events like concerts, film festivals, and comedy shows by Dane Cook and B.J. Novak. In addition to my work with Revolution Prep, I have a full-time job as a research assistant in Economic Development at the Downtown DC Business Improvement District, where I study the economic implications of cool things like DC's new SmartBike program. When I'm not teaching or researching regional economic trends, I like to spend time catching up with friends, visiting DC's fantastic museums, and enjoying the outdoors (and all the adorable dogs) in the park at Dupont Circle.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I've been through dry, dull test prep courses myself, and I want to give students something different- a more dynamic, engaging atmosphere that will actually get them excited to do well on the test.

Jennifer G.
Hometown: Bel Air, Maryland
College: Cedar Crest College
Resides in: Laurel, MD
About Me:
I have always loved to teach and have made a sincere effort to get out there and help students in whatever capacity possible since high school. I have been a private tutor and worked with the America Reads/America Counts program in college. I have also worked as a teaching assistant for numerous courses at the University of Maryland, where I am currently pursing my PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology. I have a real passion for biology but also try and balance out my science brain with some more artistic activities. I love photography, to read (everything from classic literature to contemporary novels), paint with watercolor and bake.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I decided I wanted to teach with Revolution Prep because I think that the approach they take with test prep is more complete than some other prep agencies, but it is also flexible enough to allow for students of all aptitudes. I am pleased to be apart of an organization that helps students to achieve their very best with such a well formulated and proven system.

About Me:
I have spent the past five years as a middle school Social Studies teacher. I have taught at Sidwell Friends School and Holy Redeemer School. I have a BA in History (Education minor) from Boston College. I follow the Washington Redskins with a passion. I am involved in music, and I have plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Music History.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Revolution Prep's offer of need-based financial aid for SAT prep is a revolutionary idea. Finances should never prevent or limit one's post-high school plans.
Vandna H.
Hometown: West Lafayette, IN
College: Purdue University (undergrad)/ Duke Medical School
Resides in: Washington, DC
About Me:
I am a medical student doing research in the DC metro that gives me school credit. I am planning on pursuing a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. I have lots of interests besides studying perpetually; I love to play soccer, salsa dance, cook, and travel (Egypt this year!). I strive to explore the opportunities of urban life and to enjoy the outdoors. I hope to give back to the world as much as I possibly can and to be inspired by the individuals I meet. :)
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Learning should be fun - and so can proving to the world that you're smart. As a kid, I loved using strategies to solve puzzles of all kinds - logic puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzles - and as a student I came to see how standardized tests can be viewed through the perspective of strategy. With all the tests I've taken, including the MCAT, I understand those strategies by now! I want to bring the fun in learning back for students by delving carefully through the layers of exam design to experience the intellectual reward of knowing most of the answers (and figuring the rest out!).
Kristen H.
Hometown: Washington, DC
College: University of Maryland, College Park (GO TERPS!)
Resides in: Takoma Park, MD
About Me:
I'm constantly reading. I'm a nerd who goes wall climbing on a regular basis. I dance modern, hip hop, and jazz. I randomly bought a ticket to San Francisco once and just flew out there, snatched up a hostel room, and wandered around on foot while I was there. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm a lot of fun, but I'm firm and you can't get anything past me. I'm the third oldest of 16 cousins and I have 4 brothers, so kids don't intimidate me. I just think they're crazy characters, which is why I want to work with them --- full time! I'm also studying to get my teaching certification so I can be a high school English teacher. Hoorah!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I really enjoy making a difference in kids' lives so that they not only learn skills, but learn to enjoy the knowledge-building process. You can incorporate real-life situations into teaching the SAT/ACT, and can make it fun at the same time. I'm all about competition so students should prepare for group activities, games, and trivia challenges in one of my Rev Prep classes!

About Me:
At UVA I studied English and Spanish literature. For the past year I have been living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil teaching English, directing an NGO, and butchering Samba. I hope to be back in the protective blanket of higher education, getting my masters, by next fall.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Because without proper, neigh, revolutionary, preparation, the SAT can be a wily rascal. Together we will tame the beast into a docile house-trained puppy.
Jacob H.
Hometown: Woodbridge
College: George Mason University
Resides in: Woodbridge, VA
About Me:
I am a junior at George Mason University. Competition brings the best out of me. Watching or playing sports is something that I take great pleasure in. I re-charge my batteries by hanging out with close friends and family. I also have a passion for apologetics (giving a defense for what you believe).
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Revolution Prep is unequivocal in its pursuit to maximize the potential of students. We also equip students with skills that will go beyond their time with Revolution Prep. For me, I find great joy in knowing that I will positively impact a young academic's life. Most of all, I love to help others achieve their dreams.

Hometown: Red Bank, NJ (Exit 109, in case you're wondering)
College: American University
Resides in: Arlington, VA
About Me:
In 2009 I graduated from American University, where I studied Psychology and Communications. I spent the first half of 2008 studying abroad in Adelaide, Australia. Currently, I work at a public relations firm in Northern Virginia. My greatest ambition is to become a food critic, so if you ever have some time to kill you should ask me what I ate for lunch.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I'm a big puzzle person: logic puzzles, sudoku, crosswords, etc. Taking the SAT is just like doing lots of little puzzles in a row. Revolution Prep is great because it shows you how to apply the skills and knowledge you already have in order to solve each one.
Taylor J.
Hometown: Sarasota, FL
College: Duke University, Georgetown University
Resides in: Washington, DC
About Me:
I grew up in Sarasota, Florida, where every point in the town is within 5 miles of the beach. It was hot, elderly, and I loved it. I spent my undergraduate years at Duke University in Durham, NC (Go to **** Carolina! kidding! sort of) and my summers and part of one year in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I majored in history and political science, with a concentration in Latin American studies. I was a huge nerd, did Model UN, worked as an Apple campus rep and tented in K-ville (Krzyzewski) for basketball tickets. I moved to DC to get my master's at Georgetown, which I just (August '09) finished. I have two cats (don't tell my landlord) and play the guitar and have a secret obsession with celebrity gossip. And that's all folks!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Anytime I get asked this question, I always say "If you can hold your own in front of a group of high schoolers, anyone else is a piece of cake." It's true, they are a tough crowd, but I love my job. I'm midway through my goal of getting a PhD in Latin American history, so any teaching experience I can get will only help me down the road. I also love my students, some of whom continue to email me nearly a year after our classes have ended. I'm trying to be the mentor I never had in high school and prove that college is the coolest!

Terry K.
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
College: Columbia
Resides in: Baltimore, MD
About Me:
I have a B.A. in Psychology and French Literature, and a law degree from Rutgers. I practiced and taught law for over ten years, but have semi-retired to write a book.
My favorite thing to do is travel, and I have visited about twenty countries in Europe, Asia and South America. I am fluent in Korean and French, and conversant in Spanish. I am teaching myself Italian and Japanese - though I am not very good at either yet.
I play tournament Scrabble, and have competed all over the U.S. as well as in Italy and Portugal. It was at a tourney six years ago that I met the man who is now my husband. I guess it pays to be a nerd!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I love to teach, and I've had a great deal of experience doing it. It's rewarding to finish teaching a class knowing that my students feel much more confident about taking an exam that they had previously dreaded.

About Me:
I graduated from Ravenna High School (Ravenna, OH) in 2003, and then Ohio University (Athens, OH) with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. I am very active, I enjoy running, biking, skiing (snow and water), and playing soccer, tennis, football, golf...you name it, I will probably play. I also like to keep up on current events, politics, and sports. When I find some free time, I also enjoy playing and listening to music, spending time outdoors, and escaping the city back to Ohio to visit with family and friends.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I teach for RevPrep because I enjoy helping people and having a positive impact. My goal is to help students reach whatever goal they set for college admissions-whether it be getting into a specific school or scoring above a certain score on the SAT. The SAT can be a real beast, but I want to teach students how to tame it...and have some fun while doing so.

Things I like: coffee, the ONE campaign, students who participate, dark chocolate, and my new baby nephew!!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Because Revolution Prep helps students reach their goal scores--and then go on to pursue the goals that really matter to them: clean water for the developing world, punk rock for the hungry soul, fame and glory on the Fortune 500... whatever the case may be!

About Me:
Hey everybody! I've grown up in Maryland all my life, but my heart belongs in Trinidad where I was born. I actually visited there this past winter and fell in love with it all over again. I can't wait to travel after I am done school. Speaking of school, I am a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology undergraduate senior. I am a Meyerhoff scholar at UMBC pursuing pharmacy. Fingers crossed. I like to smile a lot, play sports, and hang out with friends. My favorite snacks include wintergreen lifesavers, popsicles, and aloo pies (trini snack). I love making lists: including my ultimate bucket list. You'll never catch me without my camera, and one day I hope to have one of those cool big black photographer cameras. Now I am just counting down the days until graduation!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Because they're the best. Simply put. I went through many prep courses when I was in high school (not that long ago) and their curriculum does not compare. It gives you the key skills to not only conquer the SATs, but to apply to general test-taking. I even used some of the skills when I took the PCATs, a SAT for pharmacy school! I also love to teach and help kids reach their dreams =)

About Me:
I'm originally from a town right outside of New York City. Currently, I'm living in Front Royal, VA where I'm a college student as well as teacher for Revolution Prep. Living out in the country is definitely an interesting experience- its great to see cows on a daily basis.
To keep myself busy, I like to play sports (rugby, basketball, baseball), hang out with family and friends, and read anything that distracts me from my schoolwork. My favorite TV show is anything that is on the cable news networks (I'm a Political Science major). When I'm done with school (hopefully, this spring!) I'll either be going into psychology or politics...or both if I can't decide. Either way, I want to stay in the DC area- its one of the greatest cities in the world!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Rev Prep allows me to positively influence students' lives by helping them achieve their academic goals.

About Me:
I'm a lifelong native of the Washington D.C. Metro area. After graduating from West Potomac H.S. in Fairfax County, I went to the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!) where I studied Government and U.S. History. I decided to stay in Charlottesville two more years studying secondary education for my Master's in Teaching. I currently live in Reston (the other side of Fairfax County).
In my free time, I watch sports obsessively and play most of them. I also think there are few things more satisfying than a good cup of coffee on a cold morning.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I loved my time at UVA and I entered the field of teaching in order to help students get a higher education. Revolution Prep is committed to helping students achieve on standardized tests and in the classroom. However, the skills taught by our instructors go beyond "How to Beat the SATs." Instead, Revolution Prep is the only company out there that focuses on teaching life-long learning skills that can help students beyond their time in high school.

I teach for Revolution Prep because -------.
(A) you're way more fun to do math problems with than my little brother.
(B) the SAT is a big bully, so I get to be kind of like your martial arts instructor, which is awesome.
(C) when you get into a great school, I can totally take all the credit with your parents. Just kidding!
(D) I have to support my Economist subscription somehow...
(E) All of the above

About Me:
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where roadrunners aren't just in cartoons and Christmas is a way to order food, not just a holiday. For college I went to Colorado State University, majoring in Speech Communication and minoring in Sociology, and here I discovered wonderful things like how to snow shoe to the grocery store. I studied abroad in Wales my junior year and learned how to surf in 60 degree water. Through high school and college I worked in radio and decided when I was through with school I needed some more adventure. I went into the Peace Corps and was stationed in the middle of the Pacific on the island nation of Kiribati where I learned that toilets are a convenience and there is nothing you can't make out of a coconut. When I came back I was a television producer for a show on the Travel Channel and water polo coach in Boca Raton, Florida. I wanted to continue in more meaningful international work, so I moved to DC and now am a master's candidate at American University. I really like tea, people watching on the metro, and roller coasters.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Standardized tests should not be hard! I want to help make them easier for you.

About Me:
I am a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Zoology. Most of my work background is in science. From 1999-2004, I worked at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research as a lab technician doing stress research in mice. From 2004-2008, I worked at the Institute of Chemical Defense studying the effects of nerve agent countermeasures in rats and mice. My eventual goal is to carry out neuroscience research and to teach biology and neuroscience classes in an academic setting. My main pastime interests include popular science, computer technology, fiction writing, martial arts, and following college sports (Go Terps!).
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I embrace a philosophy of continuous refinement and improvement, and Revolution Prep in many ways embodies that refinement. It is my goal to refine my teaching skills while providing excellent instruction to help motivated high school students to dramatically improve their SAT scores. While Revolution Prep teaches "just" SAT prep (for the most part), many of the skills and techniques we teach implicitly improve critical thinking and will serve the students well in college and later in life. Many of the world's inconveniences are caused by sloppy thinking and inattention to detail

About Me:
I recently graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in International Relations. As you probably guessed, I love to travel, and hope to eventually live in countries throughout the world. I hope to one day create an organization that promotes primary education in developing countries. As for right now, I look forward to working with students through Revolution Prep.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
My past educational opportunities were direct products of good test scores. I didn't get the best grades in high school, but by scoring high on the SAT and ACT I was able to attend the university of my choice. I teach for Revolution Prep to give others the same opportunity. I understand how the SAT works, and am eager to help students develop strategies for earning a higher score.

About Me:
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest before attending college at the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated from Pitt with an honors undergraduate degree in history and the history of art and architecture in 2001. I enjoy teaching because I like to help students achieve their full academic potential
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
As a college instructor, I recognize the importance of the SAT in the college admissions process. A strong performance on the SAT will improve a student's chances of attending the college of his or her choice. Any student can improve his or her SAT scores with proper instruction, determination, and a committed teacher. Revolution Prep is focused on helping every student succeed by using innovative teaching methods and creative instructors. I support these goals and I am proud to serve as a teacher for Revolution Prep.

About Me:
I just graduated from my dream university (yes, I've been a Duke basketball fan for my entire life) and am currently mourning the fact that I am no longer a student. I figured teaching would be the closest thing to it! While at Duke I received a BA in English and minors in Economics and Education. This past spring I was a student teacher for Public Speaking and AP Language and Composition at a local, public high school in Durham, NC. I am now a certified high school teacher! I do miss the warm weather down south but I love fall in New England -- especially running on a path in the woods on a brisk day.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Despite our attempts to wish away the SAT by closing our eyes, the test is here to stay. We can, however, rock the exam by learning the strategies and practicing. I decided to teach for Revolution Prep because of my desire to help students succeed and become one step closer to their dream colleges -- and the best 4 years of their lives!

About Me:
Hi! So a little bit about me... I am a 2004 graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame High School and I recently graduated from UMBC with my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at UPenn and plan to conduct industry research when I'm all done. I definitely think it's important to stay active in and outside of the classroom so over the course of my academic career I dabbled in a few different things. Academically, I am a UMBC Meyerhoff Scholar and MARC U*STAR Scholar. For two years, I conducted on-campus research in the Bioheat Transfer lab and since my junior year in high school I have participated in some sort of internship every summer. Outside of the classroom, my newest passion is running. I completed my first full marathon last year in Alaska and even ran 2 half marathons... but I know that there will be more to come. I believe life is full of opportunities just waiting for you to take advantage of them! "I am one. But still, I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." ~Edward Everett Hale
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
The SAT is designed to test you, challenge you, and give sight beyond sight to all college admission offices of how bright your futures will be!!! Right? Wrong. The SAT will test you but only on how well you prepared for the SAT, so together we can defeat this monstrosity of an exam and not allow the cruel inventors of the SAT to prevent you from achieving your goal: to get into college. I teach for Revolution Prep because I believe in my students, in their future and in their success and I don't think one test should stand in the way of their dreams. "Obstacles are only things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." - anonymous... P.S. I'm a quote person, can't you tell... :-]

About Me:
I work for Montgomery County Public Schools as a first grade teacher. During the summer I am a director at Calleva Outdoors, working with 6-9-year-old campers and 14+-year-old staff members. In my "spare time" I also work at an animal hospital in Gaithersburg. I grew up in Maryland and graduated from Wootton HS in MCPS.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I went through the SAT prep process myself and know that I did not enjoy the process, nor was I enthusiastic about the results! However, I also know how critical it can all be. I enjoy teaching the course because I think the students deserve a class that is as fun as possible and can help them achieve the results for which they are willing to work. Plus, working with this age group is a welcome change of pace after being in a first grade classroom for the majority of my day!

About Me:
I grew up in Irvine, CA until I moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University. I decided to relocate all the way out to the East Coast because of Johns Hopkins' academic and research reputation. I initially wanted to study biomedical engineering but ended up majoring in neuroscience. I worked in a research lab for all four years and volunteered at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for two. After graduation, I participated in a program called CityYear, which is a non-profit organization partially sponsored by Americorps. As a corpsmember, I worked at Turner at Green Elementary School, located in a disadvantaged neighborhood of Washington, DC. My main responsibilities included providing classroom support, leading small group tutoring, facilitating lunch activities, and creating an afterschool program. Currently, I am working for a biotechnology company and also am applying for medical schools. I like meeting friends, watching movies, and playing with my dog on my spare time.
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I want to teach for Revolution Prep because I enjoy working with students and seeing their improvement. I have various experiences teaching different age groups, and it has always been gratifying for me to see one of my students succeed on a test or in class. I did well on my SAT and other science courses so I hope to use my past experiences to help students succeed in their studies.

About Me:
I'm a bookworm from birth. After my stint as an English major at UMD, I went on to receive my Master's in Creative Writing from EWU and would, one day, like to publish a book. Some of my favorite authors include Dostoevsky, Haruki Murakami, Ron Carlson, Ann Patchett, Annie Dillard... A culture vulture, I enjoy visiting museums, watching independent movies, attending plays, and listening to indie music. I'm also a college basketball fan and can't wait until March Madness!
Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
I've been tutoring for years and try to infuse energy and imagination into teaching my students, making the material more palatable to them.

Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Revolution Prep hires only the coolest dorks. We're dorks because we'll help you improve on the SAT (words such as 'sedulous' and 'solipsism' are part of our vocab), but we're cool because we'll make the SAT material fun. Really.

Why I teach at Revolution Prep:
Revolution Prep not only teaches you the all the material you need to know for the SATs, but also teaches you how to prepare for it physically and emotionally (which is half the battle.) It is simply the most comprehensive prep course out there!
