Our approach to SAT Subject Test Prep

Be strategic

Is your child taking any AP tests? Taking the corresponding SAT II test as close as possible to the AP exam will help to maximize study efforts for both tests. We can help with APs, too. If you’re taking a language SAT II, make sure you’ve had at least two years of study. For other subjects, it’s a good idea to take the tests as soon as your child is ready. If they are taking biology in their freshman year, they should plan to take the SAT II at the end of that year.

Know the material inside out

As opposed to the more analytical approach of AP exams, SAT subject tests focus on fact-based questions covering a broad survey of the topic. Understanding the details and significance of key events of United States history, French language vocabulary, or the periodic table will better prepare a student for each particular exam. While preparing for the SAT II, it can be easy to focus too much on the test and let grades slide.
