About this webinar
For many children in 1st through 5th grade, receiving a poor grade on a math test is devastating. They interpret the results to mean that they are “just not a math person.” This labels – imposed either by oneself or by others – can have devastating implications for the child’s future. The research of Dr. Carol Dweck, author of Mindset, has shown that having a “growth mindset” – viewing one’s abilities as adaptable – is not just a catalyst for life-long success, but is a skill that can be learned. This session will provide insight into how this learning philosophy can maximize students potential to build a positive relationship with the subject of math.
