About Brendan

Brendan is a singer-songwriter and host of the popular Hotel Utah Open Mic, the epicenter of the singer-songwriter community in San Francisco. He’s a graduate of UC Santa Barbara’s Political Science department, which he entered with 28 units of college credit due to his AP test scores. He has taught with Revolution Prep since 2006, and he’s worked with students on the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE, SAT Subject Tests and AP Tests, as well as a wide variety of academic subjects common to both high school and middle school.

Outside of tutoring, Brendan’s primary focus is music. He can play a dozen instruments, teaches beginner guitar and piano, and performs regularly in community theater orchestras and as a singer-songwriter. He has a spontaneous, clever and razor-sharp sense of humor, and he brings it along to every class and tutoring session he holds. Recently he became the fourth Revolution Prep tutor to appear on Jeopardy!

He's a really good tutor. He has helped me improve tremendously in areas of the SAT in which I had struggled on.
