Chelsea has a Bachelor's and a Master's of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University. She is currently a student in the mathematics department at the University of Tennessee, where her concentration is in mathematical biology. Chelsea's experience ranges from tutoring fellow undergraduates while at Texas Tech, to four years as a graduate Teaching Associate teaching college-level math courses, and two years as a PEER Fellow at the University of Tennessee. In total, she has taught hundreds of hours of math from Algebra to Calculus III.
Chelsea believes that anyone can become a great mathematician (or anything else they strive for), and she is here to help students work toward their goals. She has had great success with her math students by keeping them engaged with material that goes beyond just teaching the equations. Many students have testified that they hated math until they had Chelsea as a teacher. Chelsea has also worked with students in test preparation, Biology, and Statistics. Chelsea has experience supporting students with ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Visual Processing Disorder, Executive Functioning, Hearing Impairment, and Visual Impairment.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys skiing, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Her favorite sports are basketball and tennis, and she loves animals.
