About Jamie

If you’ve ever thought about living for two months among the Macushi Amerindian tribe in Guyana, South America, Jamie Fitzgerald is the tutor for you. He did just that while attending the University of Virginia. He’ll happily describe what he learned there, including knowledge translation, descriptive writing and ethnographic methods. Students love working with Jamie as he truly has traveled the world and can translate his experiences into exciting lesson plans, and he was recently described by a student as “an excellent teacher with a brilliant background," a fitting description.

Students love that he keeps lessons engaging and high-level. He is a frequent guest lecturer on college campuses on topics related to social theory, and he is able to keep even the most lackadaisical students’ attention. Jamie has experience supporting students with ADD/ADHD. He is proficient at teaching a variety of subjects, including the SAT, ACT, cartography, and civil engineering.
