About Maegan

Maegan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Mount Holyoke College. A certified biology teacher, Maegan has helped many high school aged students develop a love of learning and build their confidence level. Maegan is driven to help every one of her students achieve academic and personal success and to provide them with a mentor relationship that is safe and comfortable.

Maegan's steady patience and keen power of observation allows her to sense student discomfort in academic problem areas. She can then help remedy and promote student growth in these areas by trying to assess and understand how a student will learn best by first attempting to see through the student's perspective and then come up with fun, creative, and challenging ways to help the student grow to their fullest potential. Maegan has seen results in working with high school students who have seemed disinterested or discouraged by the thought of challenging material, have had a hard time pushing themselves to succeed, or students who struggle with anxiety. She has also experienced results with elementary students in Math and Reading, who benefited by Maegan's patience level and listening ability.

Beyond her teaching career, Maegan is also a writer and poet and has published several online articles through her affiliation with the Biocitizen School of Field Environmental Philosophy.
