About Philip

Philip Brunst brings his passion and experience in writing and reading to his role as a tutor with Revolution Prep. He holds an MFA in Writing from the New School in New York and a BA in economics from Queens University, and he’s published articles in a number of literary journals, including The Brooklyn Rail, in addition to working on three editions of the Best American Poetry anthology.

Philip specializes in working with students on advanced English and writing skills, as well as working with students on the SAT, ACT and SAT Subject Tests. He is adept at helping students tackle difficult academic and test prep concepts in engaging ways. He builds long-term goals and works tirelessly to help his students achieve them. He creates reading lists for his students that include books like Guns, Germs and Steel and Fahrenheit 451. When he is not tutoring students, Philip is pursuing his passions in writing, film, tennis and basketball.
