HELLO!

Thank you for choosing Revolution Prep!

Do you need some additional instructions on setting up your iPad? You’re in the right place! Please follow detailed steps below:

Activate Your iPad

1

Turn on your iPad. A “Hello” screen should appear. Press the Home button to unlock your device and begin set up. Select your language, and then tap your country or region.

2

You need to connect to a Wi-Fi network, cellular network, or iTunes to activate and continue setting up your device.

  • Tap the Wi-Fi network that you want to use (you will need to enter the network password, if the network is protected).
  • If you’re setting up an iPad (Wi-Fi + Celluar), you might need to insert your SIM card first.
  • You’ll be asked to enable or disable a feature called Location Services. This feature enables apps to access your iPad’s GPS and provide you with location-based information. You can enable this for now.
3

You will then be asked if you want to set up your device as a new iPad, restore from an iCloud backup, or restore form an iTunes backup.

  • If you don’t have a backup or another device, select Set Up as New iPad.
  • If you have owned an iPad previously and have a backup you’d like to use, select one of the last two options. Skip to Restore from iCloud Backup or Restore from iTunes Backup.

Set Up as New iPad

1

Once you’ve selected to set up your iPad as a new device, you’ll be prompted to Sign in with your Apple ID and set up iCloud Drive. Enter your Apple ID and password, or tap Don’t have an Apple ID or forgot it. From here, you can recover your Apple ID or password, create an Apple ID, or set it up later. Note: Your Apple ID is the same email address and password you use for purchases in iTunes or the App Store.

2

After agreeing to Terms and Conditions, choose the option to use iCloud on your new iPad. Next, choose to backup to iCloud. This option is the easiest and most convenient, as iCloud will automatically backup and sync the information on your iPad whenever you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you don’t want to use iCloud and just want your backups stored locally in iTunes on your desktop, then choose to back up to your computer.

3

Next, you’ll be asked to use a feature called Find My iPad. This is a very useful tool that can be used to track down your iPad should it get stolen or misplaced. Enable it and continue.

4

You’ll be asked whether you want to use Dictation or not. This amazing new feature uses Siri to let you dictate text from anywhere when the iPad’s keyboard is displayed.

5

If you don’t mind Apple anonymously collecting usage data from your new iPad to improve its products, then tap the option to automatically send diagnostics and data usage. This will not interfere with your experience.

6

Continue and let iCloud work its magic. Then you’ll be good to go!

Restore from iCloud Backup

1

Connect your new iPad to the computer using the USB cord provided.

2

Open iTunes on your computer and select your device.

3

Select Restore Backup then choose a backup. Make sure it’s the correct backup by looking at the date and size.

4

You’ll be asked whether you want to use Dictation or not. This amazing new feature uses Siri to let you dictate text from anywhere when the iPad’s keyboard is displayed.

5

Wait for the process to finish. If possible, keep your device connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into power during and after set-up. This allows content like your photos, music, and apps stored in iCloud to automatically download back to your device.
